About the area

There are shops like Spar and Tesco Express within walking distance plus a variety of takeaways also nearby. More shopping and restaurants at Abbeywood and at the Cribbs Causeway regional shopping and entertainment venue are also close. A bus ride or taxi down Gloucester Road gets you to many more restaurants, bars and the central parts of Bristol.

A great stay for those working in the area with businesses like Airbus, Rolls Royce, MOD, MBDA UK, BAE, GKN Aerospace, Aviva, SGS/ Filton College, University of the West of England (UWE) and many others less than 10 minutes away.

It’s a short 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to Abbey Wood Retail Park, which contains a 24 hour Asda Superstore and a 24 hour McDonald’s. The Retail Park also includes restaurants like Bella Italia, Nandos, Frankie & Benny’s and Costa Coffee.

Located within 20 minutes of Bristol Zoo Gardens, The Wild Place Project, The Downs, the historic Clifton Suspension Bridge, the SS Great Britain plus hundreds of bars and restaurants. If you’re looking for something a little more sporty then Filton Driving Range & Adventure Golf Course is only 2 miles away, as well as The Wave; an inland surfing destination, only 5 miles away.

The Mall at Cribbs Causeway is a large indoor shopping centre, along with a leisure complex with multi-screen Vue cinema, ten-pin bowling and a large number of restaurants for you to enjoy & it is only a 15 minute drive away from the house.

The historic Roman City of Bath is forty minutes’ drive away (17 miles) and makes a fantastic day out with the Roman Baths museum complex, street theatre, many excellent bars, restaurants and the Bath Thermae Spa – featuring natural hot spring water swimming areas and spa therapy experiences. You can spend a whole day lounging in natural hot spring water pools and being pampered! Then there are live play theatres in both Bristol and Bath, like the Bristol Hippodrome, the Bristol Old Vic and the Bath Theatre Royal, where you can enjoy a show of your choice after a fabulous local pre-show dinner.

Bus stops are no more than a 5 minute walk away with routes that can take you to the City Centre in 25 minutes. Filton Abbey Wood railway station is a 10 minute walk away, trains take 5 minutes to reach Bristol Temple Meads in the centre of Bristol, where you can pick up national connections. Bristol Parkway mainline station to London and South Wales is around 10 minutes’ drive away. Also located close to the M32, providing easy access to the M4.

Getting Around

Free Off-Street Parking if you bring your car. Just a 2 minute walk from a bus stop. Buses take around 25 min to get to the City Centre.

6 minute walk to Filton Abbey Wood railway station. Trains take 5 minutes to reach Bristol Temple Meads in the centre of Bristol, where you can pick up national connections. Bristol Parkway mainline station to London and South Wales is around 10 minutes’ drive away.

Close to M32 and then on to the M4 and the motorway network for easy road access to South Wales, or east towards London.
